Dan Flynn was elected to the Escanaba Board of Education in 2014. Mr. Flynn has been a resident of Escanaba for 44 years. Mr. Flynn is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's degree in Health Education. His educational experience includes teacher, coach, and administrator for the Escanaba Area Schools. Mr. Flynn served on the Michigan High School Athletic Association's elected governing board, the Representative Council, for 22 years as an Upper Peninsula member.

James L. Hermans, a native of Escanaba, was elected to the Board of Education in 2000. Mr. Hermans graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and Elementary Education. He received a Master of Arts in 1973 in Education and Administration. Mr. Hermans also has 30+ hours in School Law and Finance. He is a member of the Bay College Board of Trustees (2006-present); St. Anne’s Church, Escanaba and on the Michigan Works! Job Force Board (2004-present). Mr. Hermans was a member of the Noon Kiwanis (22 years) and past president (two terms).

Bob Chaillier was elected to the Board of Education in 2016. Mr. Chaillier has been a resident of Escanaba all his life, graduating from Escanaba High School in 1989. He has been a registered MHSAA official for over 20 years. Mr. Chaillier has been employed with Rotech Healthcare, Inc. as a Service Center Supervisor for 20 years. He is an active member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS) currently serving as the Chairman. Mr. Chaillier is married to the former April Charlebois, who also serves on the EAPS Board of Education. They have two children, Madelyn and Nick, both of whom attend Escanaba Area Public Schools.

Bob LaFave’s career in maintenance supervision started while serving in the United States Navy. Through the years, he was able to combine technical training and college to retire as a supervisor of the Escanaba Public Works Department. The last four years of his employment history were the most enjoyable, as he worked with area high school students teaching Automotive and Welding. Mr. LaFave and his wife of 43 years have been very fortunate to raise their family of four children here in Escanaba. Currently, they have six grandchildren, four of whom attend Escanaba Area Public Schools.

April Chaillier was elected to the Board of Education in 2016. Mrs. Chaillier is a lifelong resident, having graduated from Escanaba High School in 1995. April and her husband Bob are raising two children who attend school in the district. Mrs. Chaillier has worked for the UP Plumbers, Pipefitters & HVAC Local #111 for 19 years. She is an active member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Chailliers are avid campers, enjoying many summer weekends on Indian Lake.

Kathy Jensen is a retired Economics and Political Science teacher, wife, and mother of three grown daughters and thirteen grandchildren. Ms. Jensen is a quilter, is active in her church and at the Bonifas Arts Center and is a member of the Bay de Noc Choral Society.

In 2014, Cathy Wilson was elected to her second term of four years on the school board. She is a graduate of CMU, and, along with her husband Tim, owns and operates a local business. They raised two graduates of the Escanaba Public Schools, Sarah and Alex, and are lucky to have two grandsons living within walking distance of their Escanaba home.
